what is human design?

The Human Design System is the science of differentiation. It shows us how each and every one of us is infinitely unique - here to operate in a specific way and play out a unique role in this life. Imagine being handed the user manual to you. This is what human design offers us. It shows us in incredible detail how our unique body and mind are designed to operate in the world.

Human Design helps us sort through what is ‘us’ and what is ‘not us’. In human design, it is called the not-self. In other disciplines, it is called the mind or the ego. The not-self is created by our conditioning. We are constantly being conditioned by the people in our life, our environments, and the cosmos above. Human Design helps us become aware of how we are conditioned by the world, by the cosmos. When we let our conditioning influence our decision making, we find that we meet resistance in life.

Human Design offers us a process of deconditioning, releasing the layers of what we are not so the Truth of who we are can shine through for the world to see.

Human Design shows us that our minds are not designed to make decisions for us. We all have a unique internal decision making authority for that. In a world that is constantly telling you what to do and buy, who you should be, and what you should think, and it is more important than ever that we reclaim our sovereignty by connecting with our unique inner authority. Correct decision making is key to navigating life with more ease and success.

Most importantly, human design teaches us how to love ourselves. It teaches us that there is nothing ‘wrong’ with us. The suffering and symptoms we experience are very real, but they are just signs from our bodies that we are not living in alignment with the Truth of who we are.

So what is the science behind all of this? The Human Design System synthesizes modern scientific disciplines of quantum mechanics, physics, astronomy, cosmology, genetics/epigenetics, neuroscience, psychology, and biochemistry with the ancient observational sciences of Astrology, the Chinese I’Ching, the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system, and the Judaic Kabbalah.

Ra Uru Hu (born Alan Krakower) was the founder and messenger of the Human Design System. He channeled the information of the system following a mystical experience in 1987. He died in March 2011.

Perhaps most importantly, I am a projector. Projectors are here to see. We see into people and systems more deeply than 80% of the planet. The projector aura is focused and absorbing with the ability to penetrate the aura of others, making us particularly adept at seeing others on a profoundly deep level - more deeply than they can see themselves. Projectors are designed to guide life force energy, to show the other 80% of the planet that there is a more efficient way of working and being in this world.

The projector has the ability to disable the mind in the other, to show them how their not-self is running their life and keeping them in suffering.

As a projector, I need to be recognized for my gifts and invited into a space or engagement to effectively guide others. I cannot guide if the person does not recognize my value, that I have something they need, and invite me in to do what I do best - see and guide. I trust that my aura will magnetize the correct people and invitations to me.

my profile

I am a 2/4 profile - the hermit / opportunist. As a 2nd line, I am a natural who is here to be called out by others to share my innate talents and genius. I am designed to do what comes naturally to me, to focus my energy on my unique lane of genius and dive deep. Human Design is one of my lanes of natural genius. When I started learning Human Design, the information made complete sense to me, like information I already knew in my cells - the answers I had been seeking my whole life. As a 2nd line, I am not aware of my natural talent - it has to be called out by others. As such, I really appreciate feedback and reflections from people!

As a 4th line, I am here to be influential in my networks and build community. I trust that the right opportunities will come to me through the people in my network. The 4th line is about externalization. I need to spend a lot of time alone to cultivate my natural genius (2nd line), and when I feel the call to share, I will externalize my unique insights and wisdom with my community (4th line).

my definition

In my human design chart, I have four channels defined - one individual channel (38-28), one tribal channel (44-26), one collective channel (7-31), and one integration circuit (10-20). This is called my definition. These channels connect my energy centers together and it’s depicts how my life force runs through me. My definition is my differentiation. It is part of what makes me unique and details how I am here to impact the world.

38-23 - the channel of struggle - a design of stubbornness

This is the pressure to find meaning and a purpose for living. I have always been able to find meaning in life’s struggle even in the most painful moments of my life. This is the awareness and the wisdom that there’s more to this life than just surviving. We’re here for a unique purpose, and I will do anything it takes to pursue that purpose, no matter what struggles come my way. Through my own process of struggling to find my individual purpose, I inspire and empower others to do the same. I show others that it is safe to take risks, to fight for what is meaningful in life. One of my greatest gifts in life is to help others see beyond the suffering that can come along with struggle. After all, struggling does not inherently mean suffering. The definition of struggle is to make forceful efforts to get free of restraint - to break oneself free.

44-26 - the channel of surrender - a design of a transmitter

This is the energy to intuitively sense what the tribe needs to survive and thrive and how to sell it to them in a language they can understand. It is a gift for instinctually assessing others and matching them with what they need in that moment.

In my life, whenever I am excited about learning something that has changed my life, there is a drive in me to share that information with others because I know it will benefit them. When I am reading a person’s human design chart, I am able to intuitively sense exactly what that person needs to know about their design in that moment and tailor the information to them in a language they can understand.

7-31 - the channel of the alpha - a design of leadership

This is a design of logical collective leadership looking towards the future. Logical leadership is based on tested and established patterns. I see better patterns for humans. I see what has and has not worked in the past and am able to lead the collective towards a more prosperous future. This type of leadership must be invited, or elected to lead the pack.

10-20 - the channel of awakening - a commitment to higher principles

This channel holds the wisdom that to survive, flourish, and experience the love of life, I must be a living expression of self-love, acceptance, and trust. I love myself and I put myself above everybody else. By doing so, I inspire others to do the same. This is the most mystical channel in the whole human design chart. Some refer to it as a shamanic channel.

I study source material and synthesize that with my study of the gene keys and astrology. Human design is an experience that is transmitted cellularly. I have the information in my cells and have the ability to transmit that information to others through my configuration.
